Prescription Glasses & Lenses – General Information
Prescription glasses are customized products made specifically to your prescription details. Please review the information below before placing your order.
Available Prescription Lens Offerings
1. Lens Types (Focal Points)
- Single Vision Lenses: Correct vision for a single, consistent distance (near, intermediate, or far).
- Progressive Lenses: Multifocal, line-free lenses offering a seamless gradient for clear vision at all distances.
- Reading Glasses: Reading glasses (sometimes called "readers") are a functional tool designed to magnify text and images for individuals who have difficulty focusing on nearby objects.
- Non-Prescription Clear Fashion Lenses: Non-prescription clear fashion lenses are a purely aesthetic accessory. They do not contain any magnification or vision correction capabilities.
2. Lens Materials
The material affects the lens's weight, thickness, and impact resistance.
- Plastic (CR-39): Standard, affordable, lightweight material.
- Polycarbonate: Highly impact-resistant, thin, and lightweight with natural UV protection.
- High-Index Plastic: Thinner and lighter than standard plastic for higher prescriptions, reducing the "coke bottle" effect.
3. Lens Coatings and Treatments
These enhancements can be applied to nearly any lens type or material to improve functionality and comfort.
- Anti-Reflective (AR) Coating: Eliminates distracting reflections from both the front and back of the lenses, improving clarity and reducing eye strain, especially at night or when using a computer.
- Blue Light Filtering: Specific coatings or treatments that block or filter a portion of the blue light emitted by digital screens (computers, smartphones, tablets), potentially reducing digital eye strain and supporting better sleep cycles.
- Hydrophobic/Oleophobic Coatings: Repel water, oils, and smudges, making the lenses easier to clean.
4. Special Purpose Lenses
- Photochromic Lenses (Transitions®): These lenses automatically change from clear indoors to a sunglass tint when exposed to UV light outdoors.
- Polarized Lenses: Primarily for sunglasses, these lenses filter out reflective glare from horizontal surfaces like water, snow, and roads, providing superior clarity and comfort for outdoor activities like driving, fishing, or sports.
- Sunglasses: Add a sunglass tint to your prescription lenses to combine necessary vision correction with protection from the sun's glare and harmful UV rays. When replacing original sunglass lenses with prescription lenses, please be aware of the following:
- Loss of Original Branding By upgrading to prescription lenses, the original manufacturer's lenses will be removed. This means any brand logos, laser-etched signatures, or authenticity watermarks (such as the brand signatures typically found on the upper corner of the lens) will no longer be present on the new eyewear.
- Quality Guarantee While the original branding is removed, your new lenses will be custom-crafted to match the color, tint, and UV protection of the original design as closely as possible, while providing the visual correction required by your prescription.
Production & Shipping Time
- Prescription glasses are custom-made
- Production time is 7–10 business days

- Shipping transit time is separate from production time
Prescription Requirements
To process a prescription glasses order, we require:
- A valid, current prescription
- Selected frame
- Selected lens options
Prescriptions must be valid at the time of order. We are not responsible for issues resulting from expired or incorrect prescriptions.
Prescription Accuracy Responsibility
Customers are responsible for ensuring all prescription information entered is accurate.
Incorrect or incomplete information may affect vision quality and is not eligible for refunds.
Pupillary Distance (PD)
What if my prescription doesn’t include PD?
- Pupillary Distance (PD) measures the distance between your pupils
- If PD is not provided, lenses will be crafted using the average adult PD of 62 mm
- While this works for most adults, providing your exact PD is recommended for best accuracy
Frame Compatibility
Not all frames support prescription lenses.
If a selected frame is incompatible with prescription lenses, the order may be delayed or canceled.
Changes After Order Placement
Prescription details cannot be changed once production begins.
Requests to modify prescription information after production has started cannot be accommodated.
Returns & Refund Policy for Prescription Glasses
Because prescription lenses are customized:
- Prescription glasses must be returned with demo lenses
- Frames may only be eligible for return if demo lenses are included
Important Notes
- Prescription accuracy is the customer’s responsibility
- Orders may be delayed if prescription information requires clarification
