Water Resistance
A watch marked as water resistant without any depth indication is designed only to withstand accidental splashes of water. Watches with higher levels of water resistance are indicated by increasingly higher acceptable levels of depth, which are usually indicated in meters.
The following usage recommendations are suggested by the Swatch Group USA:
- Water-resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). Will withstand splashes of water or rain but should not be worn while showering, swimming or diving.
- Water-tested to 50 meters (165 feet). Moderate exposure to moisture will not damage the watch but should not be worn while showering, swimming or diving.
- Water-tested to 100 meters (330 feet). Submersion in shallow watcher acceptable. Showering, dishwashing and other similar exposure to moisture can be tolerated, but should not be worn while swimming or diving.
- Water-tested to 200 meters (660 feet) or more Watch has been designed for normal diving. Specification will vary please review your owner’s manual before use.
Please note that we do not recommend swimming or diving with your watch unless it has a screw-down crown (also known as 'screw-lock' or 'screw-in' crown) and is water-resistant to at least 200 meters.
