Eco-Drive

Eco-Drive is a model range of watches manufactured and marketed worldwide by CITIZEN WATCH CO., LTD. These watches are primarily powered by light.

These types of watches are powered by a movement where solar cells are mounted under the dial. The layer above the dial is transparent enough where rays of sunlight can penetrate directly into the solar cells. The solar cells then collect the light energy, convert it to electricity, and then transfer that electricity to the movement.
